New workshops offered

Registration is available now for portrait drawing and painting workshops in Naperville. Class sizes are limited and begin in June. Descriptions are below.

Description: Learn to draw faces and heads with confidence! We'll explore proportion and measuring, using shading and line in charcoal to create a likeness. Anyone can learn to draw a portrait that will have people saying, 'Hey! That's me'! Some drawing experience is helpful. The instructor is Lisa Gloria. There will be a live model and supplies are included.

Description: Expand your knowledge of portrait drawing with this class, designed for people who have taken the Drawing Portraits 1 class, or who have outside experience. We will explore refining and improving basic skills, refining detail, and creating memorable, personal compositions. The instructor is Lisa Gloria. Description: Learn to paint realistic portraits in this intensive three-day oil painting workshop. Featuring demonstrations and one-on-one instruction, this course will help you explore traditional methods and practices for creating great likeness and composition. Students will investigate using value and color to create form, and using proportion to create likeness. Tools and materials will be explained. Paint will be provided. Model is also provided. Magnolia Tree Blossoms

I got Richard Schmid's book, "Alla Prima - Everything I Know About Painting" last week, and I was inspired to try painting the magnolia blossoms on my front yard. Boy, I was nearly drunk from their scent - gorgeous!!
