Playground Position: To

12 x 27, oil on panel. This painting is part of a diptych. Playground Position: Fro is still in progress.

I started these paintings a year ago, along with several other paintings, and promptly discovered that my reach exceeded my grasp, to be frank. I kept hitting roadblock after roadblock. Finally, I'm getting back to them. I needed to branch out of beige (though I still love beige), delve deeply into edge control, and refine my form modeling so that I could control those things better.

I hope you enjoy this painting. It means a lot to me.

This is beautiful! I love the drippy paint handling in contrast with the well-drawn structure. The only part that jumps out a bit is the light-ish cylindrical "column" form that runs from the left side ankle to the big toe, might be more of a complicated shape - but maybe the photo of the painting is emphasizing it.

Beautiful work, can't wait to see the next one!

Love your work and Love this one! It has such beauty and tenderness mixed with a hint of pain and sadness. I like when a painting speaks to me.

Keep it up....I can't wait for the next one either.

I really enjoy it. Very well painted. I have recently started painting small areas of the body for practice so I won't strive for a completed painting.

Hi Lisa! It's Ramon from RP. I really like your blog, and this painting in particular. The melancholy feeling I get from it is remarkable, not to mention that the edge treatment is very accomplished. And those feet are just spot on!

Also, I wanted to thank you for the constant encouragement on my thread :)

PS. I love your chickens too! :)
